Airport and staff raise £36,000 for hospice
05.02.10
Luton Airport and its staff raised £36,000 for a hospice last year. Keech Hospice Care received the donation, consisting of an initial £10,000 from the airport plus money raised through fund raising events carried out by employees.
The fundraising activities included marathons, charity collections, cake baking, quiz nights, triathlons and a midnight walk. The hospice has used the money to help create a new adult in-patient unit with 8 beds. The hospice will remain the chosen charity of Luton Airport this year.
