Airport expects a busy summer
05.05.10
Luton Airport has 'forecast a busy summer of flying', with destinations offering sunny breaks expected to be the most popular. The Spanish hotspots of Majorca and Alicante and the Greek islands of Corfu and Kefalonia will see strong visitor numbers. Bodrum and Dalaman in Turkey will also be busy this year, along with Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt.
For those looking to a city break, established destinations including Barcelona, Paris and Prague are likely to be the most popular. Simon Harley, the airport's airline development manager, said: 'With nearly 100 destinations on offer this summer, passengers have a great deal of choice.'
'In order to make their travel process as smooth as possible, passengers are advised to be aware of restrictions on liquids in hand baggage that are still in place and to remember that only one piece of carry-on luggage is allowed through the security area.'
