easyJet passengers; load factor up

easyJet reported a 22.1 percent increase in the number of passengers it flew in September, as travellers continued using budget airlines despite tough economic times.
Just under 4.2m passengers flew with the budget airline last month, compared with 3.4m in September last year. The airline's load factor - a measure of how full its planes were - climbed to 86.9 percent from from 85.2 percent.
In the 12 months to the end of September easyjet flew 43.7m passengers, up from 37.2m in the previous 12 months, with an average load factor of 84.1 percent, up from 83.7 percent.
(Note: September 2008 and 12 month figure for this year includes the effect of the acquisition of GB Airways earlier this year. The airline does not disclose these figures separately).
