easyJet passengers up 6.5%

easyJet carried 5.54m passengers in August, a 6.5% increase on last year. The budget airline saw a decrease in its load factor, which was down 0.1 percent points to 92.2%.
In the year to the end of August the airline carried 54.1m passengers, up 11.8% on the previous 12 months - however, the previous 12 months included the volcanic ash crisis, making comparisons difficult. Its average load factor was up 0.3 percentage points to 87.2%.
