easyJet passengers up 13.4 percent

easyJet passenger numbers were up 13.4 percent in April to 3.6 million, although its load factor dropped 3 percentage points to 80.1 percent. The airline blamed the timing of Easter, which was in March this year and April last year, for the load factor decline in the month. It added that the combined load factor for March and April 2008 was consistent with the same period in the previous year.
In the rolling 12 months to the end of April the airline carried 40,071,680 passengers, an increase of 15 percent on the previous 12 months. Its average load factor during the period was 83.2 percent, down 0.8 percentage points.
