Transavia launch Rotterdam flights
09.11.08
Transavia has announced a new route from the UK. The Netherlands' largest low-fare airline will fly twice daily from Luton Airport to Rotterdam, in addition to starting operations in Denmark (initially with no flights to the UK) following the collapse of Sterling Airlines.
Transavia’s first and only UK route now flies twice daily between Luton and Rotterdam, priced from £41 one way, including taxes and charges. Flights depart at convenient times for business and leisure travellers, leaving Luton at 07:55 and 20:50 each day, and from Rotterdam at 07:20 and 20:15.
The launch of operations in Denmark follows the collapse of Sterling Airlines, the Danish low cost airline that transported 4.5million passengers a year before filing for bankruptcy on 29 October. As Transavia’s core operations are seasonal in nature and heavily weighted to summer months, the airline was able to launch a Danish operation at short notice. There are no routes to the UK in the initial flights announced.
