Wizz Air has announced that it will launch a new route from Luton Airport to Romania later this month. The Polish budget airline will begin operating flights between Timisoara and Luton on October 27, with three flights per week.
In addition to the new route, the airline will also increase the frequency of its services between Luton Airport and both Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest from four to six and from seven to ten flights a week respectively.
Wizz Air chief executive officer, Jozsef Varadi, said: ‘The expansion is a major step forward for us to gain and sustain market leadership in Romania. I am confident the ongoing consolidation in the airline industry will yield more opportunities for Wizz and on that basis we have advanced aircraft deliveries and scaled up our expansion plans in markets such as Romania.’
