easyJet ancillary revenue up

Ancillary revenue increased by 20.9% to £258.3m at easyJet in the 6 months to March, driven in the main by an increase in passengers. Its total revenue from 'partner and in-flight activities' fell by 8.9% on a per seat basis to £1.33.
The budget airline's checked bag charge raised £107.7m in the period, an increase of £ 19.3% compared to the previous year. Speedy Boarding and Speedy Boarding Plus generated an increase in revenue per seat in the half year of £0.45 up 9.0%. However, its income from insurance sales and commission on the sale of hotels and airport parking fell on a per seat basis.
