New paid security fast lane planned
19.11.08
Passengers flying from Luton Airport will be able to use a priority lane for quicker travel through the security checkpoint - providing they pay a 'small' £3 fee. The airport revealed this week that construction work will begin soon to create the dedicated security lane, which is already available at a couple of UK airports including Liverpool.
Natalie Raper, marketing director at Luton Airport, said that the aim of the paid channel was to reduce waiting times for all passengers, as some travellers were prepared to pay for a quicker route through security search and this would take them out of the non-paying line.
