Silverjet launch seat offer to Eos passengers

Luton Airport based all business class airline Silverjet is seeking to take advantage of the failure at the weekend of Stansted based rival Eos. It has launched a deal offering a limited number of seats on its London to New York route for the same price as their Eos ticket.
Lawrence Hunt, CEO, Silverjet, said: ‘Our first priority is ensuring our own passengers enjoy Silverjet’s stress-free experience, however we hope that this special offer will provide some peace of mind to Eos passengers.'
Eos customers wishing to take advantage of this offer need to call Silverjet on 0800 044 0224. Electronic proof of the ticket price paid is required and the offer applies to Eos customers booking with Silverjet before midnight the May 10.
Although this sounds generous, Eos was a premium class all business airline, offering customers a service similar to first class and, according to a number of reviews, more upmarket than that offered by Silverjet from its Luton Airport base. In addition, its headline fares were around twice those of Silverjet.
So, unless the Eos passengers were receiving a substantial discount on this (and some corporate customers could have been), this might not be such a good deal. It does generate some positive PR for Silverjet though, and it reminds budget conscious travellers that there is another airline out there.
