easyJet announce appointment of FD

easyJet has finally found a replacement for former finance director Jeff Carr, after almost 8 months of searching. Chris Kennedy will take over as Group Finance Director in the Summer - more than a year after his predecessor left. He joins from EMI Music where he was Chief Financial Officer. Mark Adams, interim chief financial officer since Mr Carr left last May, will continue with the airline to ensure a smooth handover.
Sir Michael Rake, the budget airline's chairman, said: 'I am delighted to welcome Chris to easyJet. He brings a combination of financial, business and leadership skills and I look forward to working with him and the rest of the management team to continue to develop the business.'
easyJet has been rocked by a series of senior management departures over the last year, after a pubic spat with founder and major shareholder Stelios Haji-Iannou over plans to continue to rapidly expand the airline during the current recession. The airline is currently looking for a chief executive to replace Andy Harrison, who will stand down in June.
